Thank you for your interest in WAG's Fostering Program and for taking the time to complete this application. Its purpose is to determine if you and a greyhound will be compatible. Since there are no right or wrong answers, we ask that you respond to each question as sincerely as possible. While WAG provides financially for its foster dogs, and representatives are available for advice and guidance, fostering a Greyhound is a serious commitment. Retired racing Greyhounds are essentially puppies in grownup bodies, and they need your guidance in order to blossom!

Do you know how to deal with Separation Anxiety?

I understand that a foster Greyhound has never been in a home and will require my time and patience to adjust. (He may chew, dig in the yard, or steal food off counters. He's never climbed up or down stairs, and a vacuum cleaner is an unknown).
I understand that a Greyhound is bred to be an indoor pet and cannot live outside.

I understand that a Greyhound cannot run loose because it is a sighthound and most sighthounds will instinctively pursue any moving object regardless of danger.

I understand that I can not use a tie-out or a Flexi leash on a Greyhound.

I understand that a foster Greyhound may chase small animals that come into my yard.

Please indicate your preference as to sex
and age of dog.

Do you have any other preferences?

Date you can accept a foster dog?

Upon approval, applicant will be asked to sign the FOSTER HOME AGREEMENT.

Please allow a few days for a WAG representative to contact you. If you have any questions please contact WAG at Fostering@weadoptgreyhounds.org or 1-877-595-0991.

I hereby certify that the information given on this application is true.
